| March 25, 2008 -
The day started out with E121 transferring to Station 23. While there,
E121 ran 6 calls including a large brush fire in the 17-04 box.
Meanwhile, back at Station 12, E122 was having a busy day as well. E122
had already run 2 calls when they were dispatched for a shed fire in the
1900 block of North Avenue at 1244 hours in the 10-19 box. The crew
from E122 worked the scene for approximately 30 minutes.
At approximately 1347 hours several calls came into fire communications
for a dwelling fire in the 100 block of Longfellow. Units responding
included E122, Qnt30, E181, E101, E131, E261, Tw26, Tk33, Sq23, E202,
E62 as a tanker, PM12, and BC2. E122 arrived on scene with heavy fire
showing. The crew from E122 immediately went to work attacking the fire.
Qnt30 arrived on scene and requested the second alarm. This brought
E121, E112, Qnt4, TK31, B12, PM18, and BC1. E121 was assigned attack on
the 7 plus acre brush fire stemming from the dwelling fire. Both crews
worked on scene for approximately 4 1/2 hours. Crews from E121 and E122
ran 12 calls including three fires during this shift.

Busy Weekend Continued |

| February 9, 2008 -
The morning started off with the members of Earleigh Heights double
pulling for a fire box in 23's area at 0630 hours. As the day progressed, the paramedics started running several calls and the Engine and Squad crews ran two small fires. The first fire occurred at 1640 hours when Communications dispatched fire box 17-04 for a dwellings fire located in the 300 block of Rosslare Dr. Engine 171 arrived on scene with nothing evident. Crews from E171 and 191 investigated further and determined there was a small fire in the master bathroom caused by the exhaust fan motor. Squad 12 checked the attic area and assisted w/ overhaul. Units were on scene for about 45 minutes. The second small fire occurred at approximately 2115 hours. E121 was in route to Station 23 for a transfer assignment when they were alerted for a fire box in 17's area again. Box 17-14 was dispatched for a chimney fire in the 300 block of Forest Beach Road. Units responding included E171, E462, E191, E121, TW40, TW39, Squad 38, and BC 2. E462 arrived on-scene and reported nothing evident. Further investigation determined there was a fire between the basement and the first floor near the fire place. Crews from E462 advanced a handline into the dwelling and put a quick hit on the fire. Crews from E121 arrived as the 4th due engine and assumed RIT. Total calls for the day: 17. 11 medical calls, 4 fire boxes, and 2 transfers. The last call for the night came at approximately 0230 hours. |

Busy day at the Heights |

| February 8, 2008 -
Members of EHVFC had a busy day. The company ran 6 fire boxes, 6 medical
calls and one local brush fire box. The last call of the day, at 2300
hours, was for a dwelling fire in the Arnold area. Box 17-13 was
dispatched to the 1700 block of Winchester Street. This brought E171,
Qnt23, E192, E462, E122, Tw39, Sq23, E401, Tw40, and BC2. E171 arrived
on location with heavy fire showing from a boat house on a pier. Lt17
requested two additional tankers and two brush units, which brought
Brush 12 and fireboat 35 to assist on the box. Crews on the scene
encountered access and water supply issues. E122's crew primarily
assisted with water supply.

| January 24, 2008 -
Around 1445 hrs while Medic 30 was out doing driver training in the 100
block of Mountain Road, they arrived on location of a 30x20 shed with
heavy fire showing and requested a box. This brough E121 second due.
E121 arrived and picked up Quint30's line as the crew went to the
fire ground and vented and checked for extension. The fire was placed
under control in approx. 15 minutes and E121 returned to service at
1534 hrs.

Engine Runs Second Fire of the Day |

| January 24, 2008 -
At 1700 hrs E121 was once again dispatched for a house fire in the 300
block of Addison Dr. in the 30-13 box. E181 arrived with a two story
single family dwelling with smoke showing from the rear. E121 was
dispatched 3rd due but arrived 2nd and assisted with fire attack
and checked for extension. The fire was placed under control at 1716
hrs and E121 returned to service at 1806 hrs.

Engine and Squad run a house fire on Hook Road |

| December 18, 2007 -
At 2004 hrs while members were assisting Santa through our first due,
fire alarm started receiving calls for a house on fire in the 8200
block of Hook Road in the 26-11 box. This brought E121 as fourth
due and Squad 12. E181 arrived on scene with smoke showing. Engines
261 and 121 arrived at the same time and engine 261 picked up E181's
line. E121 established water supply utilizing tankers because this
was a non-hydrant area. Sq12 arrived with E121 and went to the fire
ground to assist E181 in fire attack. Once inside, crews found fire
in the attic. Crews knocked the fire then opened the ceiling while
Tw26 opened the roof. The fire was extinguished without any
extension and was placed under control within 15 minutes. Company
12 returned to service at 2306 hrs.

Busy night for the Heights |

| December 7, 2007 -
A quiet Thursday evening turned into a non-stop early Friday morning
for station 12. About 1AM, Just after returning from a medical call,
Squad 12 was dispatched for a residential fire in 20's area. E203
arrived to find a 2 story dwelling with heavy smoke showing. Squad
12 split crews to assume RIT and assist attack. After chasing substantial
fire in the walls and ceilings throughout the house, Squad 12 was released
at about 3:15 AM. Squad 12 returned to quarters and had just completed
equipment clean up when E122 was dispatched for a maternity emergency.
Crews switched gear to the Engine and responded to assist PM12. While
en-route back to quarters, Squad 12 was picked up on the second alarm for
a fire in 33's area. Crews again switched gear and responded to their
fifth call since midnight.

| October 26, 2007 -
Around 0100 hrs, Fire Alarm received calls for a bedroom on fire in the
1400 block of Saybrooke Ct. in Lake Shore. E122 was dispatched. E121
was clearing a wires call in our first due and added themselves.
E203 arrived with fire showing on the second floor. E122 arrived third
and stretched a back-up line to the second floor and opened up. E121
assumed RIT. The fire was placed under control in 15 minutes and units
went in service at 0220 hrs.

Pedestrian vs 18 Wheeler |

| September 21, 2007 -
Just after midnight Fire Alarm started receiving multiple calls about
a pedestrian struck by a truck in the vicinity of Rt. 2 and Rt. 100/10.
There was some confusion over the exact location so multiple units
were dispatched. E121 arrived first at the Rt. 10 on-ramp from Rt. 2 to
find a man lying in the road with significant blood loss from the head.
PM12 arrived shortly after from another call and the patient was packaged
for transport via MSP helicopter to Shock Trauma. E121 was released from
the scene after the accident investigation concluded at about 1 AM.

Vehicle crashes into house, bursts into flames |

| September 20, 2007 -
At 1013 hrs E121 and PM10 were dispatched to the intersection of Earleigh
Heights Road and Jumpers Hole Road for an MVC. E121 arrived to find a
car that had hit a house and was on fire. E121 immediately requested a
collapse assignment to assess the damage done to the structure. The
crew from E121 advanced a 200' attack line and extinguished the fire,
preventing extension to the dwelling. Meanwhile PM10 attended to the
single patient from the vehicle and transported priority 2E to BWMC.
A building inspector was requested and deemed the dwelling unsafe
for occupancy. Once AA Co. Roads cleaned up the 100' fence debris from
the road, E121 returned to service at 1108 hrs.
